Break through with our new visitors

We listened to the story of the three little pigs.  In groups we experimented with construction material and built a strong house.  We thought and analysed whether it was big enough for Mr Pig (teddy) to fit in and tested whether the big bad wolf (the ball) could knock it down.  Next, we took action by creating a new and improved design.

Lucas' home learning

Look at Lucas' home learning!  He has described the tree house that he is going to make with his Dad, it even has a bed in it!
Way to go Lucas!

Reading with Ginger

Ginger had a visitor that she had last year during oral language.  This learner often asks how Ginger is so I suggested that she come and visit her.  After a few cuddles Ginger was lucky enough to have a story read to her.

Collaboration through discovery learning

Last Monday I took some photo's showing children collaborating together to make a dog house. They showed determination as well as the construction straws kept popping out.  Well done on collaborating together well to make your dog house.

Break Through: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse Week 5

Look at the all the recycling you brought in, thank you parents!!

We needed to design and redesign our creations.

We were continually reflecting as we problem solved.

Can you think of any of the creations that we might be making?

We are building on our skills of papier mache, painting, gluing and decorating.

Get Set Go!!!

Look what we have been up to every Monday. It has been great fun!!

Collaborating!!!!

As a group the learners were asked to design a funny face.

The next step was to work collaboratively to create the design with a construction kit.

This is the group who collaborated really well to create a funny face!!!!

We used our hands to measure!!

We kept our finger straight and always made sure they were touching.

How many hands is the length of the book?

How many hands long is Britta?

We were determined because some of the places we measured we very long!!!

Siddhu measured the length of the table, good thinking!

2 boys measured the tyres....

their answers were different, I wonder why?

Wow Thomas you are being very determined!!

We found out what was the same length as one of our hands, what is the same length as your hand?
