A Really Creative Wheels Day

Maui and the Sun

We built our knowledge by reading Maui and the Sun.  

Next, we made meaning by summarising the story.  After that, we applied our understanding by creating our pastel and dye of the sun.  We collaborated by deciding what colours to use, and where to draw our koru.  

We are great artists!

Season

Summer, Spring, Winter or Autumn

Some of our learners are learning about the four seasons, and how we can tell the difference between each season.  How can we tell it is Spring?  Here is a little song about the four seasons the children can watch and build their knowledge.  I have also put in some photos can you match the seasons to the pictures.

Used children's books

We are still collecting second hand books for the school fair next term.  

If you have any used children's books that you don't read anymore we would love to have your donations!  Perhaps some grandparents or neighbours might have some too?

Books need to be in good order (i.e. no rips and not falling apart), so they can be enjoyed at a new home. If you have a few spare plastic bags, that would be appreciated too.

Books can be given to Mrs Freddy in hub 5/6 .

Duality maps

The boys have finished their duality maps and here is a short video of them talking about them.  They really enjoyed doing these and asked every day if it was time to do their maps.
