Hats for term 4!
This term we all need to be wearing school hats as it is the summer term just like term 1. We find it useful if there is something attached to our hats so that we can identify our own one really easily.
These group of children are fine demonstrators!
Thank you to our volunteers :-) We like how you have put a ribbon or a button or badges on your school hats. Round of applause for all of you in hub 1!
From next week if you don't bring your hat to school, unfortunately you will have to sit in the shade during break times so please remember to bring them!

Fixing up Miss Holland's writing
Today in writing our writing group gave me feedback on my writing.
We broke it into two different parts - one was about how I could fix up the writing that I had already done, and the other part was helping me with ideas on what I could add or do differently.

Here they are sharing their feedback with me about how I could improve my writing...
Then we gave each other feedback.
Here's LH1 giving each other feedback and buddy conferencing each other during writing time...

Netball today
Today we have some special visitors come in to teach us all netball. We learnt some new skills and practiced them. Here are some learners sharing their thoughts. Click the play button and please be patient, the photos will turn over (they're just a little slow) for you to hear everyone's ideas.

Making Connections in Phonics
We've all been learning lots about letter sounds and how to use this understanding in our writing. Some of the groups have been robotting to help them break down the sounds in words and some have been looking at words with the same middle and end sounds. Here are some of the rhyming words we've found. Can you think of any others?

Introducing Shapes in Maths
We have been doing shapes. I have been tracing shapes like squares, triangles and circles. They are flat shapes. I feel good about doing shapes.
By Emily S.
We were collaborating. We are making some shapes and working together. We made the sides and we stuck the sticks together. We never gave up. We think it is a flat shape. What do you think? They are squares and we saw how the triangles compared when we did it. We can make more shapes and make them bigger and bigger.
By Hunter, Leon and Anshul
Today Lily H. and Aurelia traced some shapes. Between them they traced circles, rectangles, triangles, diamonds, squares and semi circles. Lily also traced a pentagon and is going to learn the name of it. Aurelia knows lots of shape names, do you?

Hub One Herald - the first ever copy!
Some of the learners in LH1 have become journalists.
We're very proud to be able to bring you the first ever edition of the Hub One Herald. We put a lot of time and effort into writing our stories and took awesome 'photographs' of our stories.
What do you think? Would you like to see the next edition of the Hub One Herald?
Click on the newspaper to read it - once it loads, you'll be able to flick through the different articles... click again to zoom in on the ones you'd like to read.

Real Life Learning in Action!
You can't hold a Stonefields learner back!
Check out Charlie and Oliver in their kitchens baking up a storm. They must have ran home and gotten their noses straight into their recipe books. Well done, boys, you've really shown everyone that learning doesn't just happen between 9 and 3 at school.
How did they taste? What was the best part about this home learning challenge? What was tricky?
We can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
Enjoy our photos and be sure to check back as more Hub 1 learners get in on the action...
Nathan's made a delicious fudge slice and has even shared the recipe with you all...
250 g plain biscuits
75g butter
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of soft brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
