Hannah, why are you cutting up the strawberries? You are being very careful.
Cymorah, can you tell us what is in the bowl. What will you do next?

How much mixture are you putting in Emily?

What are you all doing with the mixture!!!!

Where is your cake,  what are you making?

Why are you making sure the lid is on Leon?

Josh, that smoothie is very purple, what did you put in it?

Are you ready to taste it Reilly?

What are you all rolling in your hands?

Why are you pushing them down with a fork Eugene?

Icing time! What colours and decorations are you using?

Sit back, relax and enjoy your blueberry smoothie!

Well done every one, your banana cake looks great!!

Wow you guys made a lot of vanilla biscuits! You have decorated them so well.

Those strawberry muffins look awesome! Did they taste good too?

Hats for term 4!

This term we all need to be wearing school hats as it is the summer term just like term 1. We find it useful if there is something attached to our hats so that we can identify our own one really easily.

These group of children are fine demonstrators!

Thank you to our volunteers :-) We like how you have put a ribbon or a button or badges on your school hats. Round of applause for all of you in hub 1!

From next week if you don't bring your hat to school, unfortunately you will have to sit in the shade during break times so please remember to bring them!

Making Our Lunch!

Last week we spent our writing time writing invitations.  We invited our parents to come in and help us to make our own lunch.

We planned our menu and got into groups to decide on the special touches we wanted.

Yesterday was the big day when we made our delicious food!

Finding 5 and the missing numbers!

We are making sums with 5!

We are finding and discussing how we found 5.

What would be the answer if I add 2 to 5?

What would happen if I add 4 to 5?

As a hub we were trying to find the missing numbers!
Are we counting forwards or backwards?

Break Through today!

Many groups have been putting a lot of time and effort into their Break Through projects this term and many are starting to come to an end.  Here's a bit of a Break Through round-up for you.

Building Group:

They have boats in Lego City and some bridges and houses and buildings.  To make the bridges we had to push the tables a little bit open and we put the bridges in the middle of them.  The bridges are used for the people that go to the boats and the cars.

By Joe

Drama Group:

First showing...

After the first go, we shared some feedback.  We reflected and said that it might be more interesting if the different actors said and did things.  Do you agree?

So the group practiced and reflected some more to give this performance:

We reflected again and gave this feedback.  We liked the way that the actors said and did things when it was their turn and we liked how they spoke clearly.  We think their next steps could be to remember when it's their turn and they might like to practice more to help them remember.  Well done everyone!

Real Life Learning in Action!

You can't hold a Stonefields learner back!

Check out Charlie and Oliver in their kitchens baking up a storm.  They must have ran home and gotten their noses straight into their recipe books.  Well done, boys, you've really shown everyone that learning doesn't just happen between 9 and 3 at school.

How did they taste?  What was the best part about this home learning challenge?  What was tricky?

We can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Enjoy our photos and be sure to check back as more Hub 1 learners get in on the action...

Nathan's amazing learning - Writing his name

"Hello, this is my name.  I have been learning my name.  It is quite easy to write now.  It was hard to start with!"

Nathan's shown great determination by even choosing to practice during Break Through time today!  He's been learning to form letters correctly and about how to hold his pencil.  Practice makes perfect - keep up the fabulous learning, Nathan.
