Break Through - making a city
BK - Bring what I know about colour. How would you use colour in your building? What buildings do you know, that are colourful? Perhaps in the city? Build further knowledge by finding and discussing where the colours are in the Colourful Buildings presentation.
MM - Think about the photos and make connections about where you would like to put your colour on your buildings and how.
AU - Create pattern and colour on your buildings.

Plasticine Pinch pottery in Break Through
BK - Bring what I know about pinch pottery. Find out more by watching the You tube clip.
MM - Consider what design to put on the side of your pots. Sort through all the brainstorm ideas and make a picture plan.
AU - Create your plasticine pot as a template for next week. Create designs on the inside and outside of your pot - zig zags, waves, hearts, diamonds, stars, flowers, your first letter initial.
MM - Compare and contrast your paper pot with your plasticine pot.
Reflect - what detail can you add? Are all my sides even? Are there any holes in my pot? What is your next step?

How many learners can fit into a tent to sing campfire songs?
We considered how to put up a tent and had lots of questions to think about. How do we start? What poles go where? What is the fly of a tent? What do we do with it? There was a lot of talk about how to set up a tent, planning and experimenting! Once the tent was set up, we had fun singing old campfire songs inside the tent.

Break Through
We learnt what morse code was all about. We also learnt that the international coded for help is SOS. We applied our understanding by creating our own messages of help. There were so many dots and dashes for every letter of the alphabet!

Art Break Through
During Break Through we experimented with colour.
Cobie brought in a Chinese dragon.
Some learners copied the dragon and added the colour.
They were very determined and took care to add detail.

Break through with our new visitors
We listened to the story of the three little pigs. In groups we experimented with construction material and built a strong house. We thought and analysed whether it was big enough for Mr Pig (teddy) to fit in and tested whether the big bad wolf (the ball) could knock it down. Next, we took action by creating a new and improved design.
