Some of us also really thought about our expression to make the recording more interesting for you!

Maths Strand - learning about time
We have been learning how to order events, including drawing and writing about our favourite time at school.
Mrs Panapa taught us about the days of the week in Maori and we made them into a chain. The order of school events are up on the window in hub 1.

Science: Melting and Setting
We learnt that heating and cooling both chocolate and fat is a reversible change, because they can go from being normal, to runny and back to hard again over and over and still go back to being like they were when they started.
Here we are showing the changes between liquid and solid...

Friday Morning Poetry
Each Friday we look at new poems in the hub. Here's one of our groups practicing one of the poems, in which they focused on punctuation and expression (especially around the question marks).

Making connections independently!
Today whilst we were reading a number of learners made connections without being prompted to do so - don't they rock!
...and here we have George, Julia and Kodi spotting small words in a big word!

Making Connections in Phonics
We've all been learning lots about letter sounds and how to use this understanding in our writing. Some of the groups have been robotting to help them break down the sounds in words and some have been looking at words with the same middle and end sounds. Here are some of the rhyming words we've found. Can you think of any others?

Hub One Herald - the first ever copy!
Some of the learners in LH1 have become journalists.
We're very proud to be able to bring you the first ever edition of the Hub One Herald. We put a lot of time and effort into writing our stories and took awesome 'photographs' of our stories.
What do you think? Would you like to see the next edition of the Hub One Herald?
Click on the newspaper to read it - once it loads, you'll be able to flick through the different articles... click again to zoom in on the ones you'd like to read.

Kodi Practicing her Numbers
Hi everyone,
Today I worked on making numbers on a whiteboard. I did that learning because I thought it would be fun and I needed to practice my number 5. I was self-aware and thought about what I was going to do and I used a number line to help me.
Reflection: I think I went really good because I was determined in writing the number 5 and I got it right! Could you please give me some feedback?
